Connect Zapdeck via MCP
Create Zapdeck presentations from your assistant with a one-time MCP setup
Before you start
You need a Zapdeck account with API access enabled by your organisation, plus an AI client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP and custom headers. Setup takes about five minutes.
1. Create your API key
In Zapdeck, open Profile → API Keys. Give your key a name, choose how long it should be valid and select Create key. Copy it and store it securely: it is only shown once.
Use your personal key, starting with zdk_. Presentations are created in your account and use your credits. Each team member needs their own key.
Open API key settings2. Connect Zapdeck
Add a remote MCP server in your AI client and enter these settings. Menu names may differ between clients.
Server URL: https://api.zapdeck.ai/mcp
Transport: Streamable HTTP
Authentication: None
Header name: X-API-Key
Header value: your personal zdk_ key
Enter the key alone, without “Bearer”. Do not select OAuth or the client’s built-in API-key authentication. Save the connection and enable the Zapdeck tools for your assistant.
Using Langdock? Go to Integrations → Add Integration → Start from scratch → Connect remote MCP. Enter the settings above, enable all four tools and add them to your agent.
3. Try your first presentation
Ask your assistant: “Which Zapdeck corporate designs can I use?” If it returns a list, you are connected. Then describe the presentation you want to create.
Your assistant can list designs, create presentations, check their status and provide a PowerPoint download. Generation takes a few minutes. Use the editor link to refine your Slides in Zapdeck.

Check that your personal key is valid and copied correctly. Use X-API-Key as the header name, without “Bearer” in its value. An organisation key will not work.

Download links expire after 15 minutes. Sign in to Zapdeck with the account that owns the API key and ask your assistant for a new link.
Keep your key private
Treat it like a password. Never paste it into chats, emails or shared documents. If it is exposed or lost, revoke it under Profile → API Keys and create a new one.
